Who Qualifies

Accredited degrees

Candidates with accredited degrees are eligible to enrol for the Singapore CA Qualification (Foundation), and may be eligible for exemptions against one or more areas of the FP.

The following degrees are considered accredited degrees*:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore;
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of London International Programmes;
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting with Law from the University of London International Programmes;
  • Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance from the University of London International Programmes;
  • Bachelor of Accountancy from the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT); and
  • Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from the RMIT University (including the full-time and part-time programmes)

 

*The accredited degrees have been assessed based on the existing syllabus of the Singapore CA Qualification (Foundation); this may be subject to change under the enhanced Singapore CA Qualification (Foundation) which was launched in August 2016.

 

Non-accredited degrees

Applicants with a non-accredited degree are also eligible to enrol for the Singapore CA Qualification (Foundation).  However, the degree must be recognised by the SAC as at least comparable to a three-year undergraduate degree using internationally recognised reference sources.

Undergraduates (with effect from 1 July 2017 onwards)

 

From 1 July 2017, undergraduates are also eligible to enrol for the Singapore CA Qualification (Foundation).  However, the degree must be recognised by the SAC as at least comparable to a three-year undergraduate degree using internationally recognised reference sources.

Undergraduates will be allowed to enrol in the following Singapore CA Qualification (Foundation) modules at any time during their undergraduate studies:

  • Principles of Financial Reporting (PFF)
  • Accounting for Decision Making (ADF)
  • Assurance (ASF)
  • Financial Management (FMF)
  • Singapore Taxation (TXF)

 

The Advanced Financial Reporting (AFF) module is only available for enrolment to the undergraduate Candidates after they have fulfilled the following conditions:

  • Completed the other five Singapore CA Qualification (Foundation) modules; and
  • Completed their undergraduate studies and obtained their degrees

Local Polytechnic Diploma in Accountancy


Holders of a local Polytechnic Diploma in accountancy may also be eligible to enrol into the Singapore CA Qualification (Foundation) via the SAC-NP Advanced Diploma in Accountancy route.

Candidates who enrol into the SAC-NP Advanced Diploma in Accountancy (AD) take the same Singapore CA Qualification (Foundation) centralised examinations.

The SAC-NP AD Candidates are not eligible to apply for exemptions from the Singapore CA Qualification (Foundation) modules.
